Hey everyone! Tara here. If you’ve been listening to this podcast for a while, you know that for me, opening up and sharing my thoughts and feelings and struggles doesn’t come naturally.
But this journey has pulled me out of my comfort zone, and I’ve gotten to grow and develop as a person in ways I never thought possible.
Today, I want to take a step back and share a bit more of my story.
A few years ago, I got very sick… very, very sick. I almost didn’t make it through. For a long time, we had no idea what was going on… and I found myself wondering if the rest of my life was just going to be like this, fearing that I would never be able to function again.
But in the midst of this, I discovered something that helped me overcome…

Thank you Gene, that means a lot. It’s scary putting myself out there and opening up but I do it so that people can relate and its reasuringq knowing that people like you are inspired by it. Thank you for a short comment that meant so much! :)
Such an incredibly profound podcast today. Tara, you talked about the idea of the human ability to create. I just finished a book entitled The Artisan Soul. The author is Erwin Raphael McManus, who is also the pastor of Mosaic in Los Angeles. He explores this idea in great detail and incredible fashion. Based on some of what I heard you say today, I think that you would LOVE the book, if you haven’t already read it. Thank you guys for your honesty and transparency. I listen every day and you guys are great.
That sounds like a great book Justin! I’ll have to check it out. Thanks for sharing!:) Thank you for listening daily. It means the world to us!
Great episode! Tara, you never mentioned the word, but did you experience a bout of depression? The experience you described sounded very familiar to times I have experienced. Glad you found you way through faith.
Thanks Brad! Yes, it was a crazy combo of depression, anxiety and intense physical sickness. My body and mind decided to shut down and teach me the lesson of a lifetime.
I hope you’ve found your way through too!
I could listen to your story a million times! Gets better every time! It’s amazing you’re letting people know they aren’t alone! Having struggled with severe depression and anxiety and health issues myself for years it’s nice knowing you’re not the only one and that everyone has their trials! We love you guys!
Thank you for sharing this with us Alex! It’s so comforting to know that there are many people out there who have and still are going through similar things. The fact that you are listening to this podcast and commenting shows that you are on the right track and are taking control of your life.Thank you for opening up as well. It will help others do the same! Keep it up! :)
If you only knew, how much I deserved to hear this “Right Now”. I absolutely loved it, and didn’t want it to end. Thank you Tara for being vulnerable enough, to share such a personal Life experience. I knew there was something very Special about you and Justin, the first time Lyndi introduced me to you both at the Beach! You both were so very sweet, kind, generous, and genuine and that has always stuck with me. I came across your page on Facebook, and of course I had to listen. I absolutely loved it. It couldn’t have come at more perfect time for me. Thank you both so much!
Tom, the man! We are the ones who think you are so sweet, kind, generous and genuine. Thanks so much for you kind words, it really means a lot, especially when you are putting it all out there!
I just listened to this podcast with tears running down my checks because I remember when you were going through your very scary trial and you didn’t know if you would ever feel good, stable or happy again. I know how scared we all were but especially how scared you and Justin were because you didn’t know what to do to get better. I know you always wanted to overcome your fears and it has been great watching the transformation you have made over the last few years, figuring out what you needed to do to become the person you wanted to be. Our strength in developed in our trials. You are amazing and I love watching your transformation as it continues to unfold.
Joy thank you so much for this comment. It really was a scary time but I’m s grateful I was able to figure out how to get out of it. Thank you so much for all of your love and support through that time. It was so helpful and needed!
Thanks for sharing! :)
