To catch you guys up to speed…I have been going to school at BYU Idaho for the past two years. I had just finished up last semester when I got the offer from Justin and Tara to do a mentorship with them. My mentoring began about 2 months ago at the beginning of my seven week summer break.

I was bouncing back and forth between California and Utah staying with family. All summer break I was working full time/ being mentored by Justin and Tara. After the seven week break the plan was for me to come back to school for one last semester and just work part time for them until the semester was over. Then I would say goodbye to BYU I and start working full time for them again.

This is a video clip of me freaking out because Justin and Tara wanted me to lay out my weekly schedule to them. They wanted me to fill out each hour of my day. I have never done this before except for when I was on a mission for my church and I had a companion that I worked with who would plan the week out with me. I was terrified to do this! I had used mini paper planners before and would have some weeks where I was feeling really motivated so I would schedule things out but I hardly ever stuck to my schedule.

This time around I was using a google calendar and I had to send it over to Justin and Tara in an e mail so they could look at it. I was so overwhelmed at first and didn’t even know where to start but then once I got going and finished I felt so good! I felt so much more organized and in control of my life. Justin and Tara have trained me to use my calendar daily. It has helped me out so much. I love it!

While I’m up here at BYU Idaho I’m going to have to be very disciplined and say no to a lot of people and invites to things. This is something that has been very hard for me to do in the past. Already on the first day I was having to say no!
